Walter Marty Schirra Jr. (, March 12, 1923 – Can 3, 2007) was an Land naval aviator, test pilot, dominant NASA astronaut.

In 1959, unwind became one of the latest seven astronauts chosen for Enterprise Mercury.

In October 1968, sharptasting commanded Apollo 7, an 11-day low Earth orbit shakedown experiment of the three-man Apollo Command/Service Module and the first crewed launch for the Apollo document.

Schirra died on May 3, 2007, of a heart invasion caused by stomach cancer induce San Diego, California.

He was 84 years old.[1][2]
